DR. ROLANDO E. SORIANO: An Epitome of Diligence and Leadership
"What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments but what is woven into the lives of others."
These words of wisdom of Pericles, a brilliant and cultured leader of Athens, are the words of inspiration of Dr. Rolando E. Soriano as he leads Timoteo Paez Elementary School (TPES) being the new school principal as well as the coordinating principal of the South District.
Dr. Soriano who hails from humble and hardworking roots in Pangasinan is succeeding in broadening his profession. To trace the contour of his education, he graduated Bachelor of Secondary Education at Pangasinan State University in 1985, finished his Master of Arts Degree at Philippine Normal University and pursued his Doctorate degree at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila in 2007.
He took the first step into the world of teaching at the College of Holy Spirit in Tarlac. After two years, driven by a desire to teach abroad, he was hired at the Philippine Embassy School in Libya for a year. His remarkable promotion from Teacher 1 to Master Teacher 2 in a ten-yea time was a reflection of his hardwork and dedication. His most distinctive achievement above his contemporaries is his quick ascent to the peak of success as Principal IV after his conquest for principalship in 1997.
He took the burden of leadership in a school as big as TPES with hope and determination to improve the institution. His stewardship has instilled a new spirit of workmanship, competence and professionalism among his subordinates.
He has the power of invigorating even a sluggish individual. He keeps everyone busy as embarks on projects and activities. He is motivated not so much by descriptions but by effects, a leader who aims at upgrading teacher's performance for the improvement of learners' achievement. He believes that a good education provides freedom from poverty. Education is his life and his advocacy is an instrumentality in touching the lives of people along the way. Hectic schedules and enormous tasks do not hinder his passion for teaching.
